The Ferrari 365 P2 was mainly developed for privately-owned teams and hit the grid in 1965 for the British team Maranello Concessionaires Ltd. to face up to the challenge posed by Ford in the '24-hour battle'. Starting from ninth position, the car eventually droppped out with ignition problems. Later, in Reims and Zeltweg, eyebrows were raised when two second-places were recorded.
