Transform Your Tamiya Sand Scorcher into a Class 5 Baja Racer

In collaboration with Ampro Engineering, this exclusive Class 5 Baja conversion set lets you reimagine the iconic Tamiya Sand Scorcher as a rugged Baja-style racer. Please note: body, chassis, and wheels are not included and must be purchased separately.

The set features Ampro Engineering’s highly detailed interior kit—now enhanced with all-new race-style seats, a dash cover, and front inner fenders. At the wheel is none other than Matthew Kett from the Scale Builders Guild, adding scale credibility to your build. New race-spec side mirrors replace the originals, elevating the car’s aggressive look.

Out back, you’ll find the latest evolution of the Knight Customs signature flat 4 engine. The Mk3 version introduces refined detailing over the earlier Mk1 and Mk2 releases, making it the most realistic yet.

Up front, we’ve developed a purpose-built Baja nose cone with integrated lights and bars, plus a new skid plate for extra off-road attitude. Both are designed to bolt directly to the stock Sand Scorcher body. To complete the transformation, we’ve also included easy-to-use templates to reshape the factory fenders into a clean, modern Baja profile.
